THE UNITY CAMPAIGN for DCDC

Through troubled times, we seek meaning, hope & inspiration. You can find that in the arts. DCDC uses its art form to tell stories to evoke emotion. There are stories to entertain, stories of love, pain, hope, joy. Stories that appeal to all races, genders, and backgrounds. When the show concludes, the audience has shared a journey together.  Is is for that reason, we ask for your support now.

Investing in DCDC is an investment into our region's economy and its capacity to generate creative solutions to complex problems, support the health and well-being of communities, educate and inspire lifelong learners. 

Thank you for getting to this point.  As you decide whether to support us or not two actions have occurred recently.  A donor has agreed to match funds from each donor up to $50,000.  Also, with the recent Corona stimulus bill a new tax deduction of up to $300 was created for unitemized donations.

Amidst uncertainty, through our art form, DCDC is certain that it will continue to provide a shared experience, inspire our community from our moving spirit and soulful expressions to transcend lives as we remind others what it means to be #DaytonStrong.

YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL

“Here at Frederick Douglass Elementary, we have seen a decrease in our chronic absenteeism rates since the introduction of our partnership with Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.”  – Principal, Frederick Douglass Elementary School in Cincinnati.

"It was something in my soul. I can't explain, something like a God moment." – Feedback from an attendee to DCDC’s Reunited concert in February 2018. 

You can make an impact:    

Click on "Make a donation." ... and you can designate in a way you feel  your dollars will make the most impact.

  • $25 will provide a gas card to transport dancers to and from schools, where they provide movement learning programs. (Last year, DCDC provided programs to over 30,000 students ages PreK-College.)
  • $50 will purchase a costume for a dancer for one dance work.
  • $100 will provide one hour for lighting and technical design
  • $250 provides an in classroom workshop
  • $500 provides 100 youth to attend a DCDC mainstage performance.
  • $675 will provide a basic in-school 45-minute performance.
  • $1,000 - $2,500 will provide a three-day to one-week, in-classroom experience of kinesthetic learning on school-defined subject matter.
  • $2,500 for underwriting support of our new dancer magazine "Challenge < Response" 
  • $4,500 provides one JB Fellowship stipend for 35 weeks. (The JB Fellows is an apprentice program for aspiring professional dancers.)
  • $5,000 provides a Paul Laurence Dunbar house museum field trip , with classroom & movement programs and a performance.
